Color Speak
I found this article on May 14, 2009. This article is called Color Speak by Nita Leland. Leland talks in the article about the properties of color's. The properties of color are hue, value, intensity and tempurature. The color tempuratures describe how attractive the colors are and also it describes the distance. For example the color red is near and has a warm feeling. The blue color is very cool and has a far feeling to it. She states each color has a certain amount of feeling and effect to a person. Like the attractive colors are red or yellow where that can make you look at them automatically because of the way the color's are; there bright. Cool colors make you not want to look at them.
Photography is Art?
I found this article on May 14, 2009. It is called Photographic Realism by Clayton Medeiros. He is talking about how photography is not a form of art. He views as photography as something the artist cannot change because he or she has taken a snap shot of it and cannot do anything else to it. Once it is in the viewers hands there is nothing the artist can do to alter the picture or change it. Scientist say that the photo's view the real color in the picture. It adds realism because there is nothing painted to it and everything is real around what is pictured. The only way the artist can alter the image is if he or she has a program like photoshop to alter the photo.
Highly Priced Museum Fee's
I found this article on May 14, 2009. This article is called City Culture Scourges by Mara Tapp. This article talks about how low income children cannot afford to go to museums in Chicago as they were charging 90 dollars just to get in a view the art material. The price to go in is crazy and something a low income family cannot afford at all. Most of the museums in Park District in Chicago are highly priced to get in and low income families cannot afford there children to get in and look at there art. This only happens during the summer. During the school year children can go for free.
Art on the Etch Sketch Pad
I found this article on May 14, 2009. The title of the article is Etch a Sketch Art by George Vlosich. This article is about drawing using an Etch Sketch pad. In this article he drew a few basketball players on the Cleveland Cavaliers. It looks really good in what he used. Just incredible eye hand control on when to stop and the shading is spot on. It looks like something he drew with his hand when really he just drew it using both his hands just turning the knob. It probably took a lot of precision and timing to get the shading and the lines right.
